Seeing the Story: Using Joint Displays to Map and Communicate Mixed Methods Findings

SPEAKER: Dr. Kylie Short, Senior Lecturer, University of Canterbury, School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health

In this session, Kylie Short shares her experience of using joint displays during her mixed methods PhD, not as an expert, but as someone who found them invaluable for making sense of complex data and communicating integrated findings. Joint displays helped Kylie visually map connections between qualitative and quantitative data, clarify her thinking, and present her results in a way that made sense to others. She’ll share examples from her thesis, reflect on what worked (and what didn’t), and offer ideas for how others might use joint displays in their own research.
